Local Attractions & Things To Do In Dayton Ohio
Located at one of the busiest Crossroads in America, Dayton is known as the “Birthplace of Aviation.” In the early 1900s, Orville and Wilbur Wright realized that “the sky is the limit” as they invented the world’s first successful airplane. Today, Dayton residents continue to live by this motto. Dayton, Ohio is home to a wide variety of entertainment, dining, shopping, cultural and natural attractions.

Whether you are visiting Dayton, OH for the weekend or you’re a hungry local, there are a variety of tasty restaurants in the Dayton area worth visiting. I don’t claim to be a food critic or a local restaurant guide, but I do have a few favorites. When you think of the Midwest, you generally don’t think sushi. Believe it or not, Dayton is home to a fabulous Japanese-owned Sushi restaurant, Akashi Sushi. A few of my other favorite restaurants in the Dayton area are Jay’s Seafood, The Pine Club, Buckhorn Tavern, The Hamburger Wagon & of course the one and only authentic Italian Mamma DiSalvo’s Ristorante.
Once you’ve eaten a delicious dinner at one of Dayton’s local restaurants, it’s time for some world-class entertainment. Baseball is as much a part of Dayton as Apple Pie is to America. If you are a fan of Major League Baseball, the Great American Ball Park is home to the Cincinnati Reds and a short forty-five minute drive from Dayton Ohio.
